Cunninghame Housing Assoc.

Case Study

The award winning Cunninghame Housing Association is the largest Registered Social Landlord in Ayrshire with 1739 rented properties in management, 29 shared ownership properties in management and 320 factored properties.  They have over 70 staff working in several locations around the Ayrshire region.

The Association had experience with previous content management systems but found them to be inflexible and complicated. Cunninghame Housing Association selected Pepperio partner Alchemedia Interactive, an experienced web developer with offices in Glasgow and Irvine.

The new website had to communicate the organisation directly to the communities it serves and the site began on a blank piece of paper.  In keeping with the Association’s mission statement of ‘More than just a landlord’, the web site had to be more than simply a description and list of services.  Alchemedia worked with the Association in evaluating peers and establishing existing best practice conventions for content and structure, whilst retaining an objective view on what techniques would serve best.

“The aim of the website is to ensure that all aspects of the Association are as accessible as possible, in a simple and interesting manner, to a wide and varied audience of Tenants, Partners and Stakeholders.  With the help of Alchemedia and our Staff we believe we’ve done a superb job”

Chief Executive, Frank Sweeney.

The finished website is a rich source of information for the various audiences the Association has to communicate with and allows users to engage with the staff and services the Association provides.  Aside from providing comprehensive information on the Association and its Governance, it also provides and signposts users to advice and information centres, community organisations, local councils, support agencies and other partners and related bodies.
